This is a no downtime procedure because ThermaScan utilizes a mid-infrared 1319 nm Nd:YAG laser that targets the highly hydrated upper papillary and reticular dermis and heats it to the desired temperature, while sparing the less hydrated  epidermis. The net effect is the heat will shrink the sebaceous glands for a positive effect on the acne, and the heat will stimulate new collagen growth for a positive effect on wrinkles and acne scars.
